“Alex Rider ss 3”: release date, announcement
In August 2022, it officially became known that the creators are preparing to work on the season 3 of the spy thriller “Alex Rider”. The production process for the new episodes started in October 2022, with the premiere of the new episodes scheduled for late summer/early autumn 2023. There is no more precise information yet.
Plot
Alex’s life was smooth, while his uncle tried to give him a lot of new knowledge. Together they went on hikes, flew to another country for the sake of surfing — Ian developed his nephew in every possible way and tried to do everything so that he did not feel lost after the death of his parents. At the same time, Ian perfectly understood that he needed to be strict, so when Alex was guilty at school, he was immediately punished.
The guy wanted to steal a friend’s phone from the teacher’s desk, which contained the address of today’s party. Once caught, he had to admit his guilt and go home. Ian took the phone. It doesn’t matter that it belonged to Tom. In the evening, Ian had urgent business — he had to leave, but the younger Ryder had the opportunity to go to a party at the address that Tom found out.
The next morning, the boy received unpleasant news from the arrived members of the Department of Special Operations — the only relative died in an accident, as he was driving at high speed. But Alex drove too often with Ian and knew that there were no circumstances that could make his uncle rush very quickly. Through the device finder app, he tracks Ian’s phone. The find takes him to an abandoned warehouse, where he sees his uncle’s car — not touched either by the accident or by any other forces. Realizing that he is being deceived, he begins his own investigation…
In season 1, Alex manages to find those responsible for the death of his uncle. He also learned that Ian had never been a bank clerk and had worked undercover all these years. He died while investigating a dangerous case involving a teenage school that educates criminals. One of his colleagues betrayed Ian, leaving no chance of survival.
The Department of Special Operations did not attach much importance to the death of the elder Ryder, and they sent Alex to carry out the task. It didn’t take long to think about the job — the guy was threatened with an orphanage for himself and deportation for Jack. He had to agree to the offer, become a schoolboy in an educational institution and understand who manages to make murderers out of children for their own parents.
The season 2 further revealed Alex’s identity. Compassion is no stranger to him, as are the mistakes he makes. But he uses his strengths with great perseverance to fix everything that he has done…

- Jack — worked for Ian for 6 years, comfortably combining study with work; raised Alex, but in the end Jack felt that he no longer needed her, because the guy did just fine without her; stayed with him after the death of the last relative of the guy — Ronke Adékoluejo.
- Tom — a classmate and part-time friend of Alex; obsessed with common teenage hobbies; wants to be popular, go to parties, date the most beautiful girls — Brenock O’Connor.
Interesting Facts
- The TV series “Alex Ryder” differs from the book of the same name, while there are too many new characters in the film, which were not even mentioned in the book.
- Some scenes of the 1st season were planned to be filmed in the Alps, but the departure for the film crew was not feasible. But there was a beautiful place in the Romanian town of Sinaia, better known as a resort for skiers. The main production process took place in London. Filming for season 1 lasted six months, starting in March 2019.
- The second season of the TV show was filmed in Bristol, Cornwall, Cardiff, Widemouth Bay and other great places in the UK. The last two episodes were filmed at the Cotswold Airport on a British Airways Boeing 747. The filming process lasted from February to June 2021.
- Brenock O’Connor was spotted by the director Andreas Prochaska when the actor played Olly in the cult TV series “Game of Thrones“. According to some sources, Prochaska personally invited O’Connor to audition for the TV series “Alex Ryder”.
