Plot

Everything is working out fine: the construction of the new ship is completed, it is launched. So it’s time to go on a trip. At this point, the samurai Kosame Isshiki becomes not only the overseer of Appare, but also his companion. Sailing away from home, something went wrong. The young genius calculated everything by grabbing a tool and spare parts for a watercraft. In addition to the basic necessary for a person. The guy did not take a piece of food, not a drop of water!
There is no provision, the steering wheel is broken, fuel is over, repairs on open water cannot be done, land is not visible in the same way as passing ships. Night is approaching, and there is no hope of a good outcome. But the salvation was made by an American steamboat, which took on board the loser travelers. Appare was absolutely delighted with the size of the ship. He immediately rushed to study it and view the technical documentation. What was Kosame left to do? To scrub the decks and do the work of a simple sailor.
So began the friendship of two completely different guys, united by one adventure lasting for ages…

- Appare Sorano – 19 year old guy; an inventive engineer from a reputable family; excellent physicist and mathematician; by nature self-confident, intelligent and even arrogant in relation to others; could get out of prison in a couple of movements of the instrument; has a bad relationship with his father, because he does not understand his son at all; Appare does not intend to continue the family business; created a steamboat in his secret underground dock; went on a journey by water; became a member of the Trans-America Wild Race, for which he created a new car.
- Kosame Isshiki – samurai; strong, agile, at the same time does not like to get involved in adventures; worked for the Appare family; in childhood received a severe injury, after which he lost his courage and ability to attack; Kosame is entrusted with the supervision of Appare, so now he follows him everywhere; his goal is to get home to Japan as soon as possible.
- Hototo – the boy who joined Appare’s team; originally from a tribe; his relatives were brutally murdered by an unknown person, now Hototo’s goal is to find the killer and take revenge.
- Jing – a girl who dreamed of becoming a racer since childhood; Now she is a member of Trans-America Wild Race.

- Masakazu Hashimoto performed in the anime “Appare-Ranman!” as a director and screenwriter. Hashimoto has created a large number of anime works. Among the popular projects: “Fullmetal Alchemist”, “Kemonozume”, “Hanasaku Iroha: Blossoms for Tomorrow” and others.
- Masakazu Hashimoto admitted in an interview that he initially could not choose the topic of the future anime. He was inclined to 2 chosen ideas: golf in America or adventures while crossing the American continent. Hashimoto knows about golf at the amateur level, but he dreamed about racing since childhood, like any boy. The choice was obvious – a calm sports game went by the wayside.
