The world has long gone over to space travel, and the ships Avenue, where Herman was in the lead, were the main assistants on such cruises. And so, Avenue 5 sets off. On board the aircraft, hundreds of guests and almost at the very beginning of the trip the ship deviates from the course. Now the rest will last much longer than planned…

When will the sequel to the series “Avenue 5 Season 2” be released?

The fact that the TV series was extended for season 2 became known immediately after the first one. Initially, the creators of the project planned to launch new episodes in February-March 2021, but the coronavirus pandemic slowed down the production process. The continuation of the space TV show “Avenue 5” will be released on October 10, 2022. 

Plot

The main star of the cruise, Ryan Clark, became famous not so long ago. On board the ship Avenue 3, he morally helped people avoid the fire, although he repeated that the fire extinguishing sensors, as well as a group of doctors arrived on time, did all the work. Unfortunately for Ryan, no one listened to his stories and everyone naively believed that it was Clark who could solve any problem.

That is why on board Avenue 5 were hundreds of posters depicting Ryan, who was considered the key to the safety of passengers. They shot videos with Clark where he praised Avenue 5, and people believed that Ryan said this sincerely. Soon, they were able to verify from personal experience that this is not entirely true.

Going on a cruise on Avenue 5, Ryan could not even imagine that there would be a problem in which passengers would demand his participation. Due to technical problems, people on board lost their orientation in space and at once hit the side of the ship. This entailed a drift in course, which extended their trip from 2 months to 3 years.

Trying to cope with the situation, Herman calls up Ryan Clark, but he absolutely does not know how he can help. Trying to explain that in the fire on Avenue 3 there is practically no his merit, Ryan again remains unheard. He has to take the initiative into his own hands and command the rest of the staff. Then Clark learns about the death of his friend, who is overboard in front of tourists.

The situation is complicated when one of the guests hears information that the ship will be in space for 3 years. People begin to panic, the staff is unable to correct the situation, and on board there are a huge number of people who are ready to leave the ship in any way. But this is almost impossible… How to cope with the onslaught of thousands of vacationers, ready to tear you to shreds?

• Ryan Clark – Captain; accidentally found himself in a fire on Avenue 3, after which he became a hero in the eyes of the public; he unsuccessfully tries to prove that this is not so; enters on Avenue 5, where the trajectory moves, because of which now the cruise will last 3 years – Hugh Laurie.
• Herman – the head of the cruise; an eccentric man tidying up new-fangled ideas from magazines, for example, he believes that red lighting in a restaurant will contribute to faster eating of steaks – Josh Gad.
• Matt Spencer – Administrator depressed man who hates his clients; responsible for cleaning rooms and other household items; after an accident on board, people turn to him with claims about a long flight, which makes Spencer very angry – Zach Woods.
• Devon – assistant to Ryan Clark and Herman; active, able to multitask – Rae Lim.

Interesting Facts

1. The directors of the picture were Natalie Bailey, Armando Iannucci and Becky Martin, who previously worked together on the series “The Thick of It”. By the way, Armando Iannucci performed in the space saga “Avenue 5” as a producer and screenwriter, and he is also one of the main creators of the project. Armando was almost always on the set during the filming.
2. On the IMDb website, the series received a rating of 5.90, where more than 1,400 people voted. The rating of expectations was low, so there were relatively few people willing to see the picture.
3. Most of the viewers hoped to see Hugh Laurie in the image of the former beloved House doctor from the series “House, M.D.”, where his hero led complicated medical cases and was not afraid to take responsibility. But the role of Ryan Clark is completely different – his character is more cowardly and least of all in the world likes to make serious decisions.
4. Arriving at the test, Zach Woods impressed the directors with his ability to get used to the image so quickly. Before entering the casting room, he was already able to quarrel with one of the people who, like Zack, had come to the casting. However, later the guy admitted that he did it on purpose to show the similarity of the character with himself.
