Plot
The problem of fathers and children is so urgent that it often remains unresolved. Neither the persuasion of parents, nor endless apologies are sometimes not able to heal bleeding wounds. Sydney has been equal to her lawyer father since childhood, but when she matured and realized who he really was, she decided to end the relationship and went to a third-party company to become a lawyer.
But the girl’s relationship with her mother has always been good. For her, the girl was worried, because her father’s betrayals literally drove her mother to the grave. As a result, the father’s next visit to his daughter’s office turned out to be the last – the man announced the death of his mother and offered Sydney to come back to work at his law firm to try to establish relations.
Sydney agrees, but cannot find the strength to forgive his father for his inappropriate attitude. The father, in every possible way, tries to persuade his daughter to his side and make her an equal lawyer. Everything would be fine, but the girl is quick-tempered and, due to disrespect for the court, often ends up in jail. No judge can stand the insults that Sydney allows herself.
Father by his own example shows that patience and a hardworking attitude to work can bear fruit. Therefore, in the case of a drug that causes cancer, he takes the side of the disadvantaged and takes his assistants as a daughter. Having done a lot of things, Sydney understands that the endurance of the parent was able to help them win the lawsuit.
After this incident, the precarious world between relatives begins to grow into something more and their relationship does not seem so strained. The father sincerely believes in the talents of his daughter, and she is perplexedly trying to understand the secret of her father’s success. How long can they keep this shaky world? Can Sydney learn the lesson taught by her father?

- The premiere took place on September 23, 2019 on the CBS channel. Less than 200 thousand people watched the picture live, and the creators gasped – no one expected such low ratings. But 2 million people have already joined the finale of the season 1.
- Initially, according to the plot, Sydney was married, but the scriptwriters decided to make her divorced and show the audience another love line that would be intertwined with the work.
- To show Sydney’s office in her first working office, I had to rent a room. So the director wanted to point out a charming look, after which she had to move to the cramped office of her father’s office.
- Representatives of the LGBT community made a statement about infringement of rights, since there are references to non-traditional couples in the series, but they focus only on ordinary relationships.
