The picture shows the everyday difficulties that any parents face, so it is interesting for viewers to observe how the characters cope with everyday life problems.

Plot

Exhaustion leads to the fact that Paul’s body refuses to sleep. Therefore, he lies in bed for a long time and cannot sleep. At 3 a.m. his time begins to keep an eye on the children, who were previously under the supervision of his wife. Usually, by this moment he only falls asleep. But Ally comes and poor Paul has to go to the children.

The day before, Ally and Paul joked that they secretly dreamed of strangling the children with a blanket. With these conversations, parents cope with the stress accumulated during the day. Life has never spoiled them, therefore, along with raising children, they are forced to work to provide themselves and their children with a comfortable existence.

Ally is more patient than her husband with all sorts of tricks of the children. In a critical situation, Paul breaks down and yells at Luke and Ava, but then punishes himself for this behavior – there is no point in yelling at them, because apart from remorse there will be no sense. Trying to somehow cope with the piled stress, he comes up with any ways just to get the children to sleep.

Breeders-3
Frame from the TV show

Sometimes at night Paul goes out with them in a car so that they fall asleep faster. Another departure ended with a police arrest. Waking up alone at night, Ally thought that her husband had actually decided to kill the children, so he took them away from home. Apologizing to her husband, she confessed the stupidity of her act. This gave Paul a little sleep as Ally put the kids to bed herself.

Every day – so new adventures. Paul is afraid that at school the children will not have the opportunity to realize themselves in creativity. Worries that they will grow up like him – boring pessimists. Ally doesn’t think so because she loves her husband. In choosing a school, they do many bad deeds for which they are very ashamed. In particular, they destroy someone else’s marriage, albeit by accident.

And when it seems that nothing in such a life brings pleasure, then Paul and Ally refute it with their example. They value the family hearth more than others, minutes together and silence …

Interesting Facts

  1. On the TV show, directors Ben Palmer and Chris Addison did a great job. Chris Addison, Simon Blackwell, and the leading actor Martin Freeman, whose experience of family life came in handy when writing the plot, were invited to write the script.
  2. When Daisy Haggard came to the casting, she was immediately taken on the role of Ally. However, an attentive viewer was unable to initially recognize their favorite actress in Season 2 of the TV series. Daisy looked younger than herself in the previous one. The actress answers the provocative questions of the interviewers with only a mysterious smile.
  3. Martin Freeman did not agree to the role of Paul for a long time, because in his arsenal of roles there are mostly calm characters. But Ben Palmer saw the picture differently and sent the artist three times an offer to take part in the auditions. After finishing work on the next film of the cinematic universe MARVEL, Freeman began work on the show “Breeders”, which became successful since the 1st season.
