Bridgerton Season 2
The era of the Regency was remembered for London for the impeccable outfits of brides. Girls and their parents dream of marriage so much that they are ready to go to any meanness in order to catch a richer groom. While everyone shares their dowry and curses their enemies, Daphne Bridgerton and the Duke of Hastings go against other people’s opinion. But will this continue indefinitely?
“Bridgerton ss 2”: release date, announcement
The continuation of the drama show “Bridgerton” has not been announced, but there are all prerequisites for this. Possibly Netflix will release season 2 in December 2021. The TV channel initially had high hopes for this project – it was supposed to become the 5th most popular Netflix original series of all time.
Large incompatibilities with the realities of that time did not bother the audience, because the plot does not give us the opportunity to reflect on the world around us.
The Bridgertons are preparing to release their eldest daughter, the beautiful Daphne, into society, where a wonderful groom will meet her. Becoming a favorite of the Queen herself, Daphne hopes to marry for love. This should be a charming, smart, rich man whom she can fall in love with over time. But instead, some journalist endlessly meddles in NOT her own affairs when it comes to Miss Bridgerton.
Daphne can hardly bear the remarks of an unknown writer. The most offensive thing is that the journalist is not lying – she only exposes insignificant facts to the society, denigrating Daphne’s honor. Many fans of the girl are now leaving the line to her heart and for Daphne there are only the most unsightly options of men. The girl has to endure the courtship of a madman, because she has no right to refuse.
At this time, the Duke of Hastings comes to the city, many call him Simon. He accidentally meets Daphne and… As everyone might think, warm feelings do not arise between them. On the contrary, at the first meeting, their relationship does not add up. Daphne considers Simon to be a rake, and he cannot believe how such girl with a sharp tongue could become the Queen’s favorite.
Daphne is losing her reputation more and more, although she still behaves very dignified. But soon she has the opportunity to fix everything.
Not wanting to get married because of the suffering in childhood, Simon dreams that all the girls will evaporate at once and not give him the opportunity to become married. Meanwhile, Daphne wishes the persistent gentleman to stop courting, because he is so unpleasant. When a private conversation takes place between her and Simon, an idea appears that can make society leave alone from both.
Daphne and Simon decide to show others that they are crazy about each other. Thus, Simon loses his girls, and Daphne no longer needs courtship from unpleasant men. But the situation soon spins out of control as feelings enter the scene. But what are these emotions and how to deal with them?
Actors and their roles
- Daphne – one of the Bridgerton daughters; dreams of a beautiful rich groom; became the Queen’s favorite, but could not find her happiness among men; one of the contenders for the beauty’s heart turned out to be an unpleasant guy who obscenely molested her, but Daphne was able to defend her honor; is in a conspiracy with the Duke of Hastings, with whom she deceives society – Phoebe Dynevor.
- Simon – because of an unhappy childhood, he decided to give up his wife, marriage and children forever; he is only interested in the affairs of his father, who recently died; Simon bears the title of Duke, which is considered an elite trait that can arouse feelings in the most inaccessible brides – Regé-Jean Page.
- Anthony – Daphne’s brother, the eldest of the Bridgertons; in love with an opera singer, whom she cannot marry due to her lack of status; is friends with Simon; considers himself obliged to decide for Daphne who will become her husband, but the girl has her own opinion on this matter; mom is also against Anthony’s ideas, while she knows about her son’s connections with the opera diva – Jonathan Bailey.
- The TV show is based on the series of books of the same name by Julia Quinn, written in the period from 2001 to 2008. However, some of the novels are overt erotica. But so far, the show’s creators haven’t gotten to that part of the story. Most likely, the plot of these books will be filmed without an erotic component, although the age classification of the TV series is 18+.
- Phoebe Dynevor took part with great pleasure in creating the image of her heroine, because since childhood she was fascinated by similar dresses and hairstyles of that time. Sheree Folkson, the director of the TV series, immediately noted the actress’s good taste.
- In fact, in medieval England, there were not that many people with a non-European appearance. The vast majority of the people who held the titles were white.
- According to viewers, Jonathan Bailey would have looked great as the Duke of Hastings. And after season 1 came out, Jonathan admitted that he wanted to play that role. But when the casting was announced, they were looking for an actor with a certain appearance.
