Plot

The story begins with the fact that once orphan Atsushi Nakajima saves Osamu Dazai from death. Later, Atsushi learns that this suicide attempt was not the first one for the guy and, as it turned out, the next one failed.

Thanks to this acquaintance, Atsushi gets into the Armed Detective Agency, where the best specialists of their work work. Possessing supernormal abilities, the guys help many services and organizations. Fighting evil is an eternal topic, so members of the Agency will always have a lot of work. That’s just the enemies also have unheard of abilities. Therefore, every battle is a bloodbath, where the strongest wins.

Recall that each anime hero is named after the famous writer of a particular country, ranging from the Japanese classic Akutagawa Ryūnosuke to English writer Agatha Christie.

Armed Detective Agency:

• Atsushi Nakajima – before entering the Agency he was in a shelter, where he constantly suffered mockery from other orphans; because of the difficult past, Atsushi grew up as a self-confident person with low self-esteem, so at dangerous moments the fear paralyzes him, but over time the guy becomes more confident and strong; Agency members know that you can now rely on Atsushi, because he will do everything to protect friends and relatives; it is often too trusting and it plays into the hands of the enemy; among the shortcomings of Atsushi, one can distinguish excessive love for money and greed for it. Atsushi is able to turn into a white tiger.
• Osamu Dazai – before entering the Agency he led the Port Mafia – a criminal organization; Osamu often keeps his thoughts with him, so those around him cannot recognize the true emotions of the guy; the guy is smart, but he can be called lonely; sometimes lazy, but everything that he conceives, performs perfectly well; Osamu is obsessed with suicidal thoughts, but only a friend who was on his deathbed could convince Osamu that he needed to fight for his life. When in contact with a person can destroy his superpowers.
• Doppo Kunikida – a member of the Academy, an excellent professional in his field, for him the main thing is the safety and reputation of the Academy; he is attentive to trifles, therefore it is considered strict and sometimes sharp from all members of the Academy; never let go of his notebook; he is aggressive towards Osamu because of his attitude towards suicide, and he trusts him completely. Able to activate the words recorded in his notebook, while can create an object remotely. But the ability of Doppo can fail at the most inopportune moment – when the sheets in his notebook suddenly run out.

His ability is considered to be the complete manipulation of the girl Elise, who performs absolutely any of Ougai’s tasks: from pursuing and attacking enemies to saving her in any situation.

Interesting Facts

1. The author of the manga, Kafka Asagiri, approached his characters from the side that no one did. Each hero was given the name of a famous writer. And some features of the literary genius were transferred to the character. So, Osamu Dazai, the famous Japanese writer of the early 20th century, tried several times to commit suicide. His first attempt was to throw himself into the water with a girl. As a result of this incident, Osamu managed to save, but unfortunately his unfortunate companion did not.
2. In March 2018, viewers saw a full-length anime film called “Bungo Stray Dogs: Dead Apple”.
3. The season 1 was not shown immediately, but consisted of 2 parts. The first part appeared on screens from April to June 2016, and the second one – from October to December 2016. Thus, viewers could watch the adventures of their favorite characters for almost a whole year.
