It is known that the filming of the season 2 of the fantastic TV show “Carnival Row” ended in September 2021. Despite this, the premiere of new episodes will take place only on February 17, 2023. And this is official information! Unfortunately for fans of the show, season 2 will be the final one.

Plot

For centuries, Tirnanoc was inhabited by mythical creatures: fairies, centaurs, fauns – all were equal in front of each other. But the fairies’ peaceful life was disrupted with the advent of people. Having sowed death on the magical land, humanity decided to make these creatures their own tame animals, which differed from a simple dog only in that they could perform more functions.

They did the dirtiest work that not a single person wanted to do. Their will was so subordinated that they themselves forgot what riches and secrets lurk in their head, but fairies have long been the heirs of great secrets. But there were those who did not want to put up with the human system, who wanted to regain freedom.

In Burgue, mythical creatures lived hand in hand with people. While the war was in full swing at Tirnanoc, some tried to take refuge in Burgue. Although the conditions were not ideal here, it was quite possible to earn money on food and shelter. But over time, the situation began to heat up.

With great difficulty, people and fairies got along in one city, while mythical creatures mercilessly oppressed. The story begins to gain momentum when detective Rycroft Philostrate investigates the death of a dancer who, during her lifetime, belonged to the fairies. Philo suspects her lover, but everything turns out to be much deeper than it seems.

A maniac appeared on the streets of the city, who decides to kill all the fairies. Or maybe not only them? But since the direct law does not allow this, it is necessary to act stealthily. Since Philostrate is bound by love bonds with one of the fairies, who has long considered him dead, he decides to take their side and protect their interests in front of people.

At this time, people and fairies go into open conflict, which is gaining momentum. Can Filo find the main killer? Will he return his beloved? We will find out about this in season 2 of the series!

Actors and their roles

• Rycroft Philostrate – an orphan from The Burgue, loves his homeland and considers it a duty to serve in the war to protect his people; eventually falls in love with the fairy Vignette, but the romance is short-lived; now he wants to support the interests of the fairies – Orlando Bloom.
• Vignette Stonemoss – a native of Tirnanoc, does not consider people to be a special kind, because she is confident in the superiority of fairies, but in fact sees that everything is quite the opposite; Vignette has wings behind him, in love with Rycroft, considers him dead – Cara Delevingne.

1. In 2005, the first script appeared, which ended up on the “black list” – a list with the best stories that have not been made into films. Only in 2015, the Amazon channel decided to pull the script out of the “black list” and adapt it to the multi-part picture.
2. Guillermo del Toro was initially approved for the post of director, but in the end, his permanent employment in other projects bothered the creators. Guillermo was fired, and in his place took several professionals at once, including Jon Amiel, known for his paintings “Outsiders”, “Marco Polo”, as well as “Wisdom of the Crowd”.
3. Initially, bets were made on recognizable actors. Since the days of “The Lord of the Rings” and “Pirates of the Caribbean”, the glory of Orlando Bloom has not abated, and the increased love of viewers for multi-part films makes Orlando work more and more every year. It is worth noting that in this case, the actor never appears in the same role.
