Two guys are engaged in the gym and aimlessly spend their free time without thinking about the future. But the carefree life ends, together with the appearance of a little boy who claims that he is the son of one of them.
When will the series “Champions season 2” be released?
Unfortunately, in June 2018, it was officially announced that the NBC television channel canceled the filming of the 2nd season.
Despite the favorite characters and the excellent work of the actors, the creators made the difficult decision to close the project.
Plot
Vince has owned a gym for a long time and is absolutely happy – he gets a small profit and it seems to him sufficient. Free time the guy spends on amusement in the companies of girls or friends.
Matthew, Vince’s younger brother, is a somewhat weird person – he most often behaves like a complete nerd. Despite the difference in characters, they live in the same apartment and get on well with each other. None of them think about tomorrow or about the possibility of starting a family.
Both of them suit girls for one night and any other unburdened relationships that do not require any responsibility. The life of the guys changes when a small boy appears on the doorstep of the apartment, who boldly declares to Vince that he is his son.
In his student years, Vince allowed himself an imprudent relationship with one of his classmates and knows very well that this young boy really can be his son. Now life in the apartment of three guys is completely different, because the parent is obliged to set an example for his child.
At the end of the first season, Michael almost entered into a single rhythm with his father, but suddenly the ravaged mother and brother destroyed all plans. Can Vince, who walked aimlessly through life, become a good educator? The first season did not convince viewers of this opportunity. Let’s hope that in the second season the failed father will be able to set a good example.
Actors and their roles
- Vince – Anders Holm. Script writer, producer, director and actor. Since 2003 participates in theatrical productions. In his account, the series “Brooklyn 9-9”, “How I met your dad”. In a short time there will be another series with his participation “The game is over, man!”.
- Matthew – Andy Favreau. Brother of the famous John Favreau. Acted in the films “Bachelors in Las Vegas”, “How much you have”. He does not consider acting as his main type of earnings, therefore he is removed only in those works that cause him creative interest.
- Michael – JJ Totah. A very young actor with high expectations. Participated in the movie “Spiderman Man: Returning Home.”
Interesting Facts
- Despite his young age, JJ Totah is the only person in the “Champions” who invited the producers themselves. The other heroes were casting and hard selection.
- Broadcast the series deals with the NBC channel.
- Initially, the creators tried to make the series with a bias in the dramatic side, leaving less airtime for jokes. Thus, the writers wanted to show that raising children is a responsible business. But deciding that the viewer wants a comedy with elements of the drama – they decided to correct the script.
- The unusual appearance of Michael and his mother was not chosen by chance. The screenwriters wanted to show the friendship of different peoples in the series. This topic affects the real problems of the American population.
