The continuation of the fantastic TV show “DMZ” has not been officially announced. It was originally planned to be a limited mini-series based on the comics of the same name. Therefore, we should not wait for the season 2.
Plot
When madness befell the world, Alma and her son Christian tried to move away with the military. At the last moment, Chris missed the bus, and Alma had to come to terms with his loss. Now she works as a doctor in a hospital formed after the fall of the common world. Alma found a way to get out of the territory and visit other cities in search of a child.
The next trip became for her a new round in her life story. Alma returned to where it all began and decided to seek help from the hospital where she worked before the disaster. Here the woman meets the nurse Rose, who helps to find the name of her son in the lists of patients, but this does not give due success. It remains unclear whether Christian is still alive…
Meanwhile, Parco Delgado, boss of the crime mafia, is recruiting supporters who are willing to start a war on the DMZ and recognize the sovereignty of the other emerging states. In particular, he is only interested in the place where he lives. Parco treats enemies cruelly and everyone knows about it — people follow him out of fear for their lives.
Another influential person in this world is Wilson, the cleaner of the hospital where Alma once treated people. Learning about his advantageous position, she comes to him for help. Wilson does not refuse, because at a time when he did not mean anything, only Alma saw in him a real man, albeit a little confused in life.
The rest solve their problems in the fastest way — by killing. Now the one who is able to adapt to circumstances and escape from persecution in time survives. Skel has a whole wall on which he wrote down the names of the enemies. And as soon as he kills one of them, he comes to cross out the name. Nearby, a girl is watching him. Not so long ago, Skel killed her father, leaving her an orphan.
Alma will have to face the main bosses of the new world. Without realizing it, she becomes a messiah, able to help the disadvantaged, restore peace and justice in the destroyed territories. But first, she must find someone who will make her live on…

- It’s not the first time for Rosario Dawson to play a doctor. In such MARVEL projects as “Daredevil“, “Luke Cage“, “The Defenders”, “Jessica Jones“, “Iron Fist“, she also played the role of a doctor, stitched up the main characters and helped them cope with the wounds inflicted by opponents.
- The directors of the TV series “DMZ” were appointed: Ernest Dickerson (“Eddie Murphy Raw”, “Malcolm X”, “Do the Right Thing”) and Ava DuVernay (“When They See Us“, “Scandal“, “The White Tiger” ), who also acted as an executive producer of the project.
