“Good Sam ss 2”: release date, announcement

In May 2022, it was officially announced that the medical drama “Good Sam” would not have a sequel. The project management announced its closure. The reason for this decision was not made public.

Plot

As a little girl, Sam learned to play the piano — this contributed to the good development of the hands and their functionality. She wanted to be like her father, who was already considered a brilliant surgeon and could perform complex operations. One day Rob and Sam got into a car accident. The father was driving too fast, which caused the accident.

Then Rob almost said goodbye to his daughter, who urgently managed to undergo heart surgery. Since then, he has changed a lot. Rob was colder towards Sam, though he gave sound advice on how to behave around the residents. The girl did not understand how she deserved such an attitude, although she saw that outwardly her father despises everyone in the department.

Once, several people got into the clinic at once, one of whom shot Rob in a fit of panic. He fell into a coma for six months, and no one thought that he would be able to survive. On the day of Sam’s appointment as chief of cardiac surgery, the news came that her father had woken up. Later, he even asked her to treat him as a patient, and Sam agreed.

And then on a daily basis, Sam began to face his desire to interfere with any of her orders given to the residents. He questions her diagnosis, arranges votes against her, and in the end, poor Sam finds out that he also sleeps with her best friend Lex!

It seems that patience has come to an end. But instead of an outburst of anger, kind Sam begins to be even more attentive to her colleagues, encourages them to fruitful work, and then helps her father overcome the difficult period of recovery. What is it like to be a person who has to prove to others her own importance every day? Will the father understand that he can forever lose a good attitude towards himself?

• Sam — a good-natured female surgeon who loves her job; is considered the second most professional specialist in the clinic after her father; tries to absorb only the best human traits, constantly improving; loves to play the piano, at the moment of alarm plays the usual melodies in the air — Sophia Bush.
• Rob — an egocentric, self-confident surgeon who does not give his daughter the opportunity to become more independent; in his own way takes care of her from wrong decisions and explains how best to proceed; Rob wants to change, but the feeling of guilt after a car accident haunts him, only during the operation he forgets about his fears and thinks only about the patient — Jason Isaacs.
• Lex — African American; Sam’s best friend; For a long time she hid about her relationship with Rob, which became a conflict between her and his daughter; works in residency; according to Rob, she is not self-confident, and this quality is considered important for an aspiring doctor — Skye P. Marshall.
• Caleb — at the beginning of the TV series, he wanted to maintain a love relationship with Sam, while avoiding all sorts of obligations when she wanted something more serious; the couple broke up, but Caleb couldn’t stop thinking about the girl; later he again invited her to meet, but it was too late — Michael Stahl-David.

1. The project was directed by Tamra Davis (“Dirk Gently’s Holistic Detective Agency“, “Miracle Workers”) and Randy Zisk (“Early Edition”, “Monk”, “Desperate Housewives”).
2. The script was written by Katie Wech, who has worked on such projects as “The Dead Zone”, “Vegas”, “The Secret Circle”, “The Dead Zone” and others. Katie also acted as a producer of the TV show “Good Sam”.
3. The TV series was filmed in Oakville, Ontario. The pilot episode premiered worldwide on January 5, 2022.
