Initially, there were rumors on the net that the “His Dark Materials” project could be closed after two seasons. However, to the delight of fans, it later became known that the production process for new episodes began in May 2021. Filming ended in October of that year.

Plot
From an early age, the girl was told about the death of her parents. The daemon attached to it reflected part of the soul. He was always with her, no matter how hard it was. Uncle Asriel showed the most concern for Lyra, but he was constantly on the road, going to the Arctic for new knowledge. Lyra dreamed of keeping him company in the near future.
But when Asriel arrived, he did not take the girl with him. Thanks to her assertiveness, Lyra was still able to find him, but the circumstances were different. By this time, the children began to disappear, including Roger, Lyra’s friend. Deciding to find a comrade, she, along with Miss Marisa Coulter, travels to the Arctic to begin her investigation.
Lyra does not have a good relationship with Marisa, but this is nothing, because soon she will meet Asriel again. Moreover, she learns that he is her real father, and her mother is Coulter. This truth was a blow for the girl, but soon another blow followed – Lyra learned about the prophecy, which said that she would become a traitor to Asriel.
In season 2, Miss Coulter is looking for Lyra with all her might, the woman even tortures the witch, who eventually calls on her leader to help her die with peace of mind. Having overthrown her master, Marisa becomes even more uncontrollable in her attempts to get to the child, who at this moment is in the alternative world.
Lyra meets a boy named Will, with whom she has a warm relationship. Together they travel in search of the missing Asriel, and the girl hopes that the witch’s predictions will not come true. It turns out that Will is also from Oxford, but has no idea about daemons, because in his world they are invisible.
The guys spent some time in the city where adults were absent. According to eyewitness children, they were hunted by ghosts, who pulled the entrails out of each adult. Soon, Lyra and Will saw with their own eyes something that terrified them. What adventures await them in Season 3? Perhaps Asriel doesn’t want to be found and hopes that his daughter will stop looking for him?

- The producers had to pay a very large sum for the royalties to the actors. Dafne Keen’s agent requested $ 500,000 per episode. Later, this amount was reduced, but the girl still remained in profit. Several years ago, she played in the movie “Logan”, where she appeared to the world as a new wolverine instead of the murdered James Howlett.
- James McAvoy recently took a break from filming feature films and switched to multi-part films. Now many big actors are moving to more stable jobs, as well as trying themselves in a new format.
