“Legacies ss 5”: release date, announcement
Unfortunately for filmmaker Julie Plec, fans of her TV series “The Vampire Diaries” and “The Originals” have long since grown up, and few of them are in the circle of viewers of the current Legacies saga. And if by the beginning of the season 1 the number of American viewers exceeded 1 million people, then by the season 4 there were barely 300 thousand.
The fate of the TV show “Legacies” became known in May 2022, when its creators announced the closure of the project. The season 4 was the final one.
Plot
Klaus Mikaelson is the first vampire in the world who, by coincidence, was able to become a father. The girl’s mother was Hayley Marshall, a werewolf who turns into a wolf every full moon. Hope lost her father when she was very young, and her mother died when her daughter was just starting to learn new skills at the Salvatore School. Hayley had to protect the child at the cost of her own life.
As time went on, director Alaric Saltzman taught the girl defense, melee techniques and helped to master magic. Hope understood the responsibility placed on her and tried to protect the school from outside threats. Often her assistants turned out to be the daughters of Alaric: Josie and Lizzie. Born first-class witches, they honed their skills and helped to destroy evil creatures.
It soon becomes clear that teenagers are not able to combine school protection with raging hormones. Hope falls in love with new apprentice Landon, who initially does not show any magical abilities. Lizzie is trying to understand herself, and Josie cannot understand at all who she likes — guys or girls. Even Alaric, who has been a widower for a long time, finds a pretty woman in the face of a local detective.
During the first 4 seasons, it became known that the merger of the twins can be postponed, which means that the sisters Lizzie and Josie will still be able to enjoy life. Alaric devotes all his energy to finding a means that can prevent the process of their merger. Landon learned that his superpower is resurrection. Hope repeatedly tried to fence him off from danger, but the guy did not want to be on the sidelines and defended his beloved with the last of his strength.
The last serious enemy for the students of the Salvatore School was the Necromancer, a monster released from Malivore. He practically destroyed the familiar world, was able to make Landon mortal, and even influenced the course of earthly events. No matter how much Saltzman fought the monster, the Necromancer always found a way to harm Alaric’s wards.
In the new episodes, Landon and Hope’s relationship will once again be tested, but life without risk is boring, and for this couple it is also familiar. Landon’s past will soon become known, which over and over again leads us to the answer to the question: how is a simple boy connected with the magical world, and why does he have such incredible power?..

- TV series “The Vampire Diaries” tells what contributed to the formation of a magical school. Alaric, Caroline, Jo and other characters from the TV show “Legacies” originate in this picture. “The Originals” project focuses on Hope’s relatives, who over thousands of years have acquired a whole army of enemies inherited by the girl for the sins of her father.
