The sequel to the captivating animated TV series “Masters of the Universe” has not yet been announced. Despite the fact that Season 1 has shown very good ratings, project creator Kevin Smith has not yet commented on questions about Season 2.
Recall that season 1 of the animated series was shown in 2 parts, 5 episodes each.

Plot

For many years, Prince Adam has been hiding a secret from everyone: thanks to the sword of power, he turns into the strongest man and calls himself He-Man. Not wanting to put up with his fame, he reveals himself to the closest people who can help him leave the second person in secret. But one day the robbers led by Skeletor attack Grayskull, threatening to find out all his secrets.

During this time, a large number of guests are present in the castle and must be protected. Guard captain Teela, gunsmith Duncan and other daredevils try to hold out, but the forces are unequal. Skeletor is too strong. They have to ask Adam for help. Reincarnated, he begins a fierce battle, destroying enemies who have climbed into foreign territory.

But with cunning maneuvers Skeletor makes him do what he came for. While everyone was convinced that the villain was interested in ruling the castle, he actually wanted to find out all secrets and destroy the magic. Thanks to the He-Man sword, a sphere has opened up, able to tell all the secrets of Grayskull to whoever wishes it. There was only one way to prevent Skeletor from taking over sphere.

And He-Man resorted to this method. Having paid with his own life for the peace of the people, he was able to destroy Skeletor. It would seem that the villains are defeated and it is time to breathe easy. But the death of Adam was devastating for those close to him. Only Teela, deeply impressed by the guy’s secret, decided to leave the castle, holding a grudge that no one told her that Adam was He-Man…

What awaits the castle without the main savior? Where will Teela go, with whom and for how long? What will the other defenders be up to?

The first 5 episodes of Season 1 appeared in July 2021 and ended so intriguingly that the expectation of the next five episodes flew by instantly. But will the animated TV series leave a clue to launch the new season?

• Prince Adam / He-Man — the strongest hero in the Universe, defending the castle from outside invasions; enters the fight only when the other defenders are powerless; his weapon is a sword, which helps to change his appearance and transforms him into a He-Man; defeated Skeletor at the cost of his life, leaving the people of Eternia safe — Chris Wood.
• Teela — at the beginning of the series was the captain of the guard; after revealing the secret about the identity of Adam, she leaves the castle in a grudge; travels with a friend, but eventually returns; takes the place of He-Man and tries to find a way to bring back the lost magic — Sarah Michelle Gellar.
• Duncan — always wears a knight’s uniform with a visor; fought on the side of the He-Man; was expelled by the king from the castle because he knew the secrets of Adam and did not reveal them — Liam Cunningham.

Interesting Facts

1. The episode “Masters of the Universe” was originally just a line of toys that needed an advertisement of He-Man to sell. The year was 1983 and Mattel became a leader in the sale of superhero products. Six months later, the animated series “He-Man and the Masters of the Universe” was released, which lasted 2 years.
2. The character designs are from Powerhouse Animation, known for their work on “Castlevania” for Netflix. Throughout the year, the creator of the animated series, Kevin Smith, negotiated, wanting to achieve a minimum amount for services, but Powerhouse specialists refused to make concessions. By that time, Smith had already decided to work only with this company.
3. In 2018, Netflix launched the animated TV project “She-Ra and the Princesses of Power”, which tells the story of He-Man’s sister forced to fight for the people. An orphan from an early age, she turns into She-Ra thanks to the found sword, but in life everyone knows her as Adora.
4. Liam Cunningham received an offer to voice Duncan while filming the final season of “Game of Thrones“. Along with him, another “Game of Thrones” star, Lena Headey, was invited to voice Evil-Lyn.
5. Jason Mewes, a longtime friend of Kevin Smith and his partner on the TV shows “Clerks” and “Jay and Silent Bob”, was one of the first to be invited to the project. He voiced Stinkor. Smith knew that after drug addiction, no one would want to deal with Mewes, but he took the risk and did not regret it – Jason never let his friend down.
