The Alps are striking in their beauty and mystery. Therefore, when a dead body is found on a mountain pass, no one is especially surprised – this place is ideal for concealing crimes. Nearby is the German-Austrian border, and the place where the corpse was located, more like a pagan ritual. With this investigation begins the most terrible story of the series.
When will the series “Pagan Peak Season 2” be released?
It is officially known that the shooting of season 2 took place during the winter of 2019-2020, and after suspension due to the coronavirus pandemic, continued in the fall of 2020. The ratings of the project were quite high, the criticism was favorable, so practically no one doubted that the director would take up the project again. The exact release date of the sequel to the mystical thriller “Pagan Peak / Der Pass” has been announced: it will premiere on January 21, 2022!
Cyrill Boss, acting second screenwriter, said that the basis for the plot was the legend of Krampus, living in the Alpine mountains. The creature kept terrified the locals as it paced the territory of the Angel and St. Nicholas. Krampus chose disobedient children as victims.
Plot
When a male corpse was found between Austria and Germany, the detectives immediately set to work. It was found that the man got here already being dead, and in his pockets are fake documents. But most of all detectives were struck by the fact that in the hands of the deceased there was a hair belonging to a horse.
In order to move faster, the local police decide to appoint two detectives who can help justice triumph. From Germany, the cheerful Ellie Stocker was sent. But at the sight of the horrific spectacle, the girl seemed to have been replaced – each subsequent day spent here, cast fear, cold and melancholy on her.
On the part of Austria, not the best of the detectives was sent, the parasite and Gedeon Winter dependent on alcohol. The man is the most in the group for the treatment of alcohol addiction, but apparently Austria has not decided to throw the best forces at the capture of a religious killer who performs truly satanic rites with his random victims.
Together they have to investigate and put up with each other’s shortcomings. Oddly enough, the partners quickly find a common language, and Gedeon is talented not only in the choice of alcohol, but also in his profession. The investigation begins to resemble the game of a serial maniac, and the longer the detectives investigate this case, the more victims are…
At the end of season 1, the main characters manage to find a cruel killer, but these are not all the dangers that lurk in the path of detectives. Colleagues are not destined to meet in the season 2 due to the death of one of them. But the criminals are not asleep, which means someone must stop them…
Actors and their roles
- Ellie Stoker – a German detective, possesses an irrepressible supply of vital energy, which sometimes annoys her partner, Ellie quickly joins teamwork and makes efforts to catch the criminal – Julia Jentsch.
- Gedeon Winter – an Austrian detective who suffers from loneliness, which was the cause of his heavy drinking, Gideon is a passive man in life, he needs to be constantly “stirred up”, but he has a great supply of mental strength and successfully uses them in his work – Nicholas Ofczarek.

- The creator of the picture Quirin Berg in 2018 received an award for the series “4 Blocks”. At this time, he was already working on the show “Pagan Peak”. In an interview, Berg said that his goal was to spy on the heels of a serial killer. He not only decided to plan his killings, but also wants to commit a massive act of violence.
- Philipp Stennert, who wrote the script, said that he did not expect to see such a strong atmosphere in the series. The filming locations fascinated the whole team. Sometimes it was scary to even stop for the night, because nature showed its mysterious facets. As soon as Stenner arrived home, he immediately proceeded to the script of the new gloomy series.
- Critics appreciated the picture, but noticed a great similarity with the TV series “Bron/Broen”, which took place in similar circumstances. Isolated Alps, according to the Swedes, looked exactly as described in both series. It is not surprising that Quirin Berg did not like such statements – the man made it clear that he did not want to hear the comparison between his series and the Swedish one.
- Nicholas Ofczarek, who plays the role of Gedeon Winter, perfectly fit into the overall entourage of alpine beauty. The man felt great away from home and promised to bring his whole family to the shooting of season 2, because the alpine air significantly improved his well-being.
- Julia Jentsch, unlike her colleague, dreamed of leaving the cereal places as quickly as possible – the actress thinks it is too quiet, cold and lonely. As for the other actors, without any vicissitudes of fate, they endured a cold winter in these parts.
