Alfred Pennyworth decided from an early age what he would do in his adult life, so his work in the Special Air Service was not an amazing event for anyone. London, 1960s, Alfred gives his youth to the British intelligence services and at the same time meets the influential Thomas Wayne – the father of a man who, years later, will defend Gotham with Alfred.

When will Pennyworth Season 2 be released?

The sequel to the adventure multi-part show “Pennyworth” is scheduled for release on December 13, 2020. Filming for season 2 began in January 2020 and was frozen for a couple of months due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The season 1 was broadcast on cable channel Epix, while before the release of the premiere made a lot of noise. It would seem one thing to shoot the series about superheroes and quite another – about their mentors and assistants. Fortunately, Pennyworth is an integral shadow in the life of Bruce Wayne, and hence the interest in his person will be increased.

Plot

Military service showed Pennyworth how pointless men are fighting for their homeland, giving up their lives, and their wives and children are forced to live in poverty. Then fate pushes Alfred to create his own business, and one of his first clients is none other than Batman’s father, a billionaire with a worldwide reputation – Thomas Wayne.

Solving issues related to the new work, Alfred alternately falls into several brawls. All of them are intertwined with each other and do not allow Pennyworth to immerse themselves in work – the guy cannot stand aside when they stick to the girl at the bar, gets involved in the relationship between the child and the adult … As a result, small situations become harbingers of future big problems.

But Alfred has friends who are ready to help him with the business, help him out of trouble, and sometimes make a company in the art of self-flagellation. Bazza is an expert in logistics, and you can always rely on him. Alfred met him at the time of service to British intelligence. Even then it became clear that Bazza was a reliable friend and companion.

Another friend from military times, Dave Boy, can not boast of the same performance, but in life goes with his head held high. In addition to close communication with Alfred, Dave tries to get drunk on alcohol most of the time, but apart from acquiring the next problems, this leads to nothing. The lifestyle of the Boy brings a lot of trouble to the guys, because the guy is unpredictable in his outbursts.

One of the main storylines of the 1st season was a girl who was dear to Alfred. Having learned about his weaknesses, the enemies decided to take her prisoner. And the grieving Alfred had no choice but to start looking for the kidnapped. Well, when there are friends behind his back that you can always rely on – with them Alfred was able to win back what he really holds dear.

• Dave Boy – Alfred’s friend, dreams of getting drunk, constantly getting into trouble, served with British intelligence in Pennyworth and Bazza, but after the death of his friend they decided to leave the service and go to the ordinary world – Ryan Fletcher.

Interesting Facts

1. Before launching the project, it was stated that the series “Pennyworth” will be the spin-off of “Gotham.” But now the picture is presented as a separate work, which only remotely tells about the life of the same characters. In both series, different time lines are affected.
2. The showrunners of the project were Bruno Heller and Danny Cannon, who had previously worked on the “Gotham” TV series. In some episodes, they became executive producers. A successful alliance was for Bruno and Danny the beginning of a successful joint career, big fees and popularity in the world of TV series, based on comics.
3. Before the shooting, Jack Bannon spent a lot of time in the gym, and also took hand-to-hand combat lessons, which were useful to him later on. Most of the battle scenes were shot from the face, so Jack had to perform the most complicated drum combinations on his own. Only scenes from the back were filmed with the participation of professional stuntmen.
4. Once again, the intricate connection between the main characters: Alfred Pennyworth is the future butler of Bruce Wayne, known under the pseudonym Batman. Alfred was the confidant of Tom, father of Bruce, and later – of Bruce himself. For dozens of years, Pennyworth helped Batman grow up without parents, then he helped defend Gotham from enemies, followed Wayne’s home, put business in order, and even in difficult times he even nursed the terminally ill Bruce.
