Philadelphia, today. Dorothy cannot survive the loss of his son Jericho, who died at the age of 13 weeks. To recover from the shock, the psychiatrist advises replacing Jerin with a doll. Her husband Sean is not enthusiastic about such a turn of events, but there is nothing to do – he decides to play along with his wife. Everything changes when Dorothy invites a nanny to her house – an 18-year-old girl with strange interests …

Plot

No matter how hard Dorothy was, Sean also felt bad. The only one he could complain about fate was Julian, Dorothy’s sibling, who was in the know. It was only with him that Sean had a chance to feel normal, because Dorothy got so used to the role of the mother of some doll that she even felt how sore her chest after feeding.

Naturally, there was no feeding, but Dorothy did not seem to understand this. Sean pretended to be on his wife’s side, but as soon as she left the house, he stopped caring for the doll and generally tried not to approach it. Dorothy decided to hire a nanny for Jericho. Only one girl, who recently turned 18, agreed to such strange conditions.

After her appearance, Sean realized that before he had a normal life. Even after Dorothy left the house, the nanny continued to take care of the doll, played with her, cooked food, warmed up the mixture, cleaned, and drove for walks. Sean has repeatedly said that he does not need the nanny to play along with his wife’s sick imagination. But she claimed that it was not at all difficult for her to do this.

The next day, while spending time in the kitchen, Sean heard a baby cry in the radio nanny. Going upstairs, he discovered … a child! Alive, real baby! After asking the nanny about everything, he decided that he was losing his mind. The wife who came home from work in the evening absolutely calmly took the baby into her arms, which finally convinced Sean that the situation was inadequate.

Only Julian, who arrived at their home the next day, confirmed that there was a doll in bed earlier. The nanny and wife walked without hesitation with the baby in their arms, but where did he come from? Now, Sean will have to find the answer to this question himself. But the main character becomes even worse when a nanny in the casket finds a Voodoo doll, incredibly reminiscent of Sean himself…

• Leanne – Jericho’s nanny; came from the hinterland and immediately set about duties; she helped Dorothy get rid of far-fetched mastitis, while quite successfully; Leanne prays to God, does not drink, leads an exemplary lifestyle; she is very quiet; doesn’t understand Sean’s attitude towards her – Nell Tiger Free.
• Julian – Dorothy’s brother, Sean’s best friend, who is on his side; Julian tries to figure out with Sean where the real child came from; he checks the reports of missing children – Rupert Grint.

Interesting Facts

1. M. Night Shyamalan developed the details for the series for several years, and eventually took over the director’s chair. He is known for his love of mystical thrillers, with most of them he created in his native India.
2. Few remember that Rupert Grint starred in all parts of the popular “Harry Potter” movie. There he played the role of Ron – Harry’s best friend, always able to help. Later, smaller roles followed, but Grint never despaired, and clearly walked along the acting path. He is currently participating in several projects at once.
3. Nell Tiger Free tried on a completely different look. Which audience recognized Myrcella from “Game of Thrones” in it? Perhaps no one. The mysterious nanny with the features of a killer is very different in character from the easy-going princess Myrcella, which was very easy to poison with a drop of poison.
4. So that the audience did not recognize the doll’s brand, it was necessary to modify her face using graphics. In part, the baby doll seems very realistic – the animators did their best.
