Plot
The events take place at the time of the Seva Genroku era. Having freed himself after a long imprisonment in prison, the main character has already decided what he will do when he returns to normal life in human society.
Once touched to the depths of the soul by the performance of the famous narrator Yakumo, who performed the classic story “Shinigami” (or “The Grim Reaper”), he himself decides to devote his life to rakugo.
What does the theatrical performance mean, during which one performer sits on the stage and tells a comic story, depicting alternately different characters. Therefore, he asks as a pupil for Yakumo.But until now Yakumo never took anyone for training, but, to everyone’s surprise, for an insistent ex-prisoner nicknamed “Yotaro” (which means “Antiguera” or “Fool”) made an exception. Having started a new life in this way, Yotaro meets important people for his teacher, including his ward Konatsu.
Konatsu was the daughter of the famous narrator rakugo, and Yakumo sheltered the girl after the tragic death of her father. Konatsu loved the art of her father and wants to follow in his footsteps, but this path is closed to women.
