Plot

Lois knew who her husband was even before the wedding. When problems arose, she calmly sent him to help people and always covered for him in front of the children. Jordan was reluctant to accept his father’s sudden disappearances and could sometimes withdraw into himself for long periods of time. For him, it was a heavy burden that he could not bear.

Jonathan was the complete opposite of his brother. He was the head of the football team, the favorite of the public and the object of adoration for girls. He was treated well at school, and the future shimmered before him in bright light. But even such an optimist is increasingly wondering where their father disappears to?

Clark knew it was time to open up to the kids. But the fear of becoming recognizable due to the fact that one of the sons would accidentally tell strangers about it did not appeal to him. And at that moment, Martha, Clark’s adoptive mother, dies. Clark is forced to put off talking to the children indefinitely and take up the farm that he inherited.

Arriving at the farm with his family, Clark tells his sons not to go to the barn. Sarah, a local girl, begins to tease the boys, suggesting that they disobey their father and see what interesting things they can find in a forbidden place. The guys agree, not knowing that there is a spaceship on which the biological parents sent Clark to Earth.

At the time of the search of the barn, a pile of metal pipes falls on Jonathan, but Jordan manages to block it with himself. Clark comes to the rescue and throws pipes to the sides, releasing the children. Both children are found unharmed. This is how Jordan’s superpowers manifested themselves. This surprised the parents, because the boy had no hobbies other than video games.

Athletic Jonathan looked more like the next Superman, and Jordan was uncomfortably aware that his parents saw a hero not in him, but in his brother. Clark had no choice but to tell the children about his origins, but instead of understanding, he stumbles upon youthful maximalism. Now it will not be so easy to find a common language with children…

• Lois — a careerist; domineering purveyor of material for publication, but known to her family for her gentleness; the children adore her, although they don’t always understand why she covers up for their father — Elizabeth Tulloch.
• Jonathan — looks at life with optimism; very glad that he does not have superpowers, because he thought that his success in football was not due to his own achievements, but thanks to superpowers; dreams of becoming a famous person; good student; in a dispute with his parents, he always defends Jordan — Jordan Elsass.
• Jordan — all his life he struggled with paranoid feelings, trying to understand where his father disappeared, which led him to a psychiatrist and sedatives; Clark’s confession turned out to be a nightmare for him, because all his life he was bullied for what they now told, hates his parents for this — Alex Garfin.
• Lana Lang — realtor; takes care of Martha’s house, which has experienced financial difficulties; in her youth she was close to Clark and they planned their common future, but the guy chose to leave her life — Emmanuelle Chriqui.

Interesting Facts

1. The well-known Greg Berlanti, who worked on the films “Arrow” and “Titans“, which indirectly relate to the series “Superman & Lois”, was invited as a screenwriter. Berlanti is a big fan of sci-fi and plays a key role in creating the project and helping to expand the DCEU.
2. The casting for the role of Lana Lang turned out to be the longest. Although she is not the main character, her character was very important — after Kristin Kreuk in “Smallville” it was difficult to find the right actress.
