The TV project “The Cleaning Lady” is based on the Argentine TV series “La chica que limpia”, which was released in 2017 and lasted only one season. Despite this, the producers of the adaptation decided to renew the TV show for the season 2. The premiere of new episodes is scheduled for release on September 19, 2022.

Plot

A few months ago, Thony came to the States from Cambodia to treat a terminally ill child. She asked to stay with Fiona for a while, and the girl agreed. Time passed, there was not enough money, and Luca was never invited to the operation. Women had to work to support their families. Thony’s husband asked her to bring her son back, but she refused.

Cleaning the banquet halls after the celebrations, Thony faced annoying harassment from her employer. Fiona pushes him in an attempt to free her sister from the man’s arms, but an unfortunate set of circumstances almost claims his life. In her homeland, Thony worked as a doctor and now she was able to provide first aid to the insolent.

Naturally, the girls lost their jobs. Once in a new place, Thony again began to wash the floors. One day, accidentally becoming a witness to a murder, she brought on herself a huge misfortune. She was almost shot, but a couple of seconds before the alleged death, Thony tells the criminals how to properly clean the floor so that the blood does not penetrate the concrete.

Deciding to shift the dirty work to the girl, the bandits offer her to wipe everything clean. She copes with the task, and their leader Arman offers her good money for this kind of service. From that moment on, he turns to Thony to clean the room in which any action took place without the knowledge of outsiders – whether it was a gangster banquet or a former drug laboratory.

Arman helps the woman in the treatment of her son, pays for the work and gradually gains confidence in her. One day, Arman learns that his people have decided to kill the woman. But at the last moment, he manages to pull Thony out of the mined building, while he himself receives an extensive injury. On the spot, the girl does everything necessary for her savior to survive.

This is how the days go. Thony periodically gets into difficult situations related to Arman. But while she has the opportunity to treat her son, she has to turn a blind eye to the atrocities that these people are doing. There are those around the boss who do not like that some servant knows their habitats and has access to many of their secrets…

• Thony — the best doctor in her home country; was forced to go abroad to get into the stem cell institute, where Luca was supposed to have a transplant; with the support of Arman, she was able to treat her son, got the opportunity to work and earn money, but this tormented her conscience too much, because she often cleaned up after the murders – Élodie Yung.
• Arman — crime boss; made a fortune on crimes; kind to Thony, has feelings for her because of her strong-willed nature and cannot eliminate her, believing that it is better to keep the girl with him — Adan Canto.
• Fiona — Thony’s sister; has been living in the USA for a long time and constantly experiences problems with work and documents; wanted to get a job at a club where she was offered to sell ecstasy for money; brings up two naughty children who do not listen to her at all — Martha Millan.

1. In 2015, Adan Canto, an American actor and director of Mexican origin, starred in the popular TV series “Narcos“. The actor’s fans also remember him from the film “X-Men: Days of Future Past”, the TV show “The Catch” and many other projects.
2. The casting for the role of Luca turned out to be the longest. According to the director, the boy should be so special that it should immediately catch the eye. An interesting fact is that 2 boys played the role of Luca at once: the twin brothers Sebastien and Valentino LaSalle.
