“Trickster ss 2”: release date, announcement
With the “Trickster” project, it turned out not to be so simple. Even before the premiere of season 1, the creators of the TV show announced that they were working on a sequel. However, disagreements within the management team led to the previously announced Season 2 being officially cancelled. Fans learned about this decision in January 2021.
Plot
Jared’s life is more like an adult. Although he is still a schoolboy, he has been making a living for a long time and buys everything he needs. It’s all to blame for the riotous lifestyle of his own mother. Maggie still acts like a young girl, drinking, smoking and having fun with Jared’s friends. And her lover Richie is a drug dealer. Maggie occasionally indulges in them too.
During this time, Jared works at a local fast food store. At first glance, he is an ordinary child who was forced to earn a living on his own. But in fact, he is an experienced chemist who masterfully makes illegal ecstasy, while having his own laboratory. At school, teachers don’t even know it – in chemistry classes, Jared is a mediocre student.
One of the unpleasant days, Jared meets at the bus stop a strange man named Wade, whose questions cause him bewilderment. Deciding not to speak to the suspicious stranger, he leaves, but at a relative’s party he again runs into him. The mother is unhappy with Wade’s appearance and asks him not to approach Jared.
But blood ties are stronger. Wade informs the guy that he is his biological father and wants to reveal some secrets. Jared doesn’t want to communicate with him, but curiosity is stronger. At the same time, alternately he has to solve several more problems that have long haunted him.
First, now this crazy Richie lives with them, which doesn’t suit Jared. Secondly, Maggie has more and more illusion attacks when she thinks that her own hands wish her ill. Richie was surprised when he first saw this, because during the time with Maggie, the woman never mentioned it. Third, someone declassified Jared’s lab and stabbed him from behind. And fourthly, the guy begins to meet people completely similar to himself…

- Maggie – Jared’s mother; eccentric in life; gave birth in the back seat of a car, after which Wade wanted to pick up the child, but she would not allow; leads a riotous lifestyle; Jared’s friends find her more fun than her son; often gathers parties at home; hides from Jared the secret of his birth and his real father – Crystle Lightning.
- Wade – Jared’s biological father who couldn’t live his life away from his son; can turn into a crow and talk to people in this guise; wants to reveal to his son the secrets inherited from his people – Kalani Queypo.
- Richie – Maggie’s current boyfriend, with whom she has a peculiar relationship; Richie can run after her with a shotgun, and the next second rush into her arms; lives with Maggie and Jared after Maggie burned down his house – Joel Thomas Hynes.
Interesting Facts
- Before filming, Joel Oulette went to the gym, where he took on more prominent forms. Thanks to his young age, it didn’t take long for him to get in good shape. In season 2, the guy has a lot of physical work on the show, so Joel did not quit the gym between seasons.
- Kalani Queypo really belongs to one of the Indian clans. Moreover, almost all his life he walked with long hair, as is customary among the Indians. Only a few years ago, he decided to cut his luxurious hair, replacing it with the usual men’s haircut. Over time, the hair began to lose its appearance, and Kalani did not want to constantly deal with it.
- Michelle Latimer became the director of the show, while she is popular in the United States, but few have heard outside of it. Most of the TV projects she has worked on have not been translated into other languages. She has about 10 works on her account, so we can say that she is a novice master who can still surprise the audience with her successes.
